Although you can consult bariatric surgeon or a dietician to develop a diet plan that helps you stay fit, to give you a headstart, here are some factors to consider when preparing a workout regimen.

When to Get Started?

The physical activity post-weight loss surgery improves blood circulation, thereby reducing the risk of blood clots and improving the recovery process. In the first week, post-surgery, patients are encouraged to include walking as a part of their daily physical workout regimen. In the beginning, patients are asked to take small steps and use stairs at home. Patients are encouraged to walk certain miles on daily basis and increase the distance gradually. The aim should be to cover 10,000 steps per day. In addition, physical activities such as biking is also encouraged. If you like to swim, you can start it only after consulting your surgeon.
